Riftbound's chase system lives in the collector number. Here is what the scanner reads, and what to look for yourself.
The asterisk means Signature
A star beside the collector number marks a Signature: foil only, with the artist's signature printed into the art. It is the single most valuable tell in the game, and the easiest to miss on a fresh pull.
Overnumbered means short print
A collector number above the printed set size marks an Overnumbered card, Riftbound's short-print chase tier. If the number is bigger than the set, the card is not a base printing.
Showcase shares a name, not a price
A Showcase printing carries the same card name as its base version and can be worth a hundred times more. Name alone never prices a Riftbound card; the scanner resolves which printing you hold.
Five sets, five numberings
Origins, Spiritforged, Unleashed, and Vendetta each carry their own numbering, with Radiance arriving October 2026. The scanner resolves the set automatically, so a champion reprinted across sets never gets crossed up.

Every scanner app identifies cards and shows a price. The grade is the difference: a near mint price means nothing if your copy is not near mint, and a gem-worthy copy of a chase card is worth a multiple of the listed price. As of August 2026 no single-game scanner app returns a condition grade.

What is an Overnumbered card?+
A card whose collector number is higher than the printed set size. It marks Riftbound's short-print chase tier, alongside Showcase printings. The scanner reads the number against the set's real size, which is exactly the check that is easy to fumble by eye.
How much are Riftbound cards worth?+
Anywhere from pennies to four figures, and the printing decides it: base versions of most cards are under a dollar while Signature and Showcase versions of the same names carry the value.
